Herr Family Photographs

I had my first official family photography session this afternoon. I couldn't've asked for a better family to photograph. They were very easy-going and carefree - full of a lot of spirit and love for one another. It was a pleasure being part of their day and having the opportunity to take their family portraits.

We combined both staged portraits and natural photographs as well - with trees in the background, as well as them walking in the sand and playing in the water.

Here are a few of my favourite photographs from our session together.

Thank-you again Herr family!

Sunset

It was rather dreary here for most of the day today, but this evening it cleared up some. I was watching TV when I saw some sunset stream in around 7:30 p.m.. When I looked outside I noticed a beautiful sunset, so I decided to drive down to Forestry Point to take some photographs. I also caught a glimpse of a rainbow, but was unable to take a decent photograph of it. Sadly, the sun is setting earlier and earlier. Autumn is definitely in the air. I have my fingers crossed for an Indian Summer, much like the one we had last year!

Pets

My mom's cat, Finnigan, is staying with me for a few days, while her apartment ceiling gets redone. At the moment, Ella and Finnigan are communicating with each other by exchanging hisses and growls. They will establish their territory in no-time I'm sure.

I am going to have a full (pet) household, as I will also be looking after Suzie come Thursday evening for ten days. Suzie and Finnigan will be thrilled to see one another. They have a very cute relationship. I'll try and capture some photographs of them playing together.

Full Moon

The (full) moon looks amazing tonight. I was out for a drive with a friend of mine (late) this evening and the puffy clouds around its brilliance caught my eye. As soon as I got home, I grabbed my camera, changed lenses and took a few shots. Here are two of my favourites.

Postcards

Please bare with me as I attempt to figure out this web site and all of its nifty features. For those of you who are friends of mine on Facebook, you may have seen the photography album that I have devoted to postcards. This is really something that I want to pursue, as well as creating my own personal web site with prints that people can order. In the meantime, here are some of my favourite pictures that I think are postcard or print worthy. The majority of these pictures were taken in Red Lake, with the exception of a few from Kansas.
