Nordby Family -

For a few months now, I have been wanting to take my friend Jenny's photographs with her two boys. Finally, this Sunday, we were able to get together and it was definitely worth the wait. We couldn't've asked for a more beautiful day - the sun was shining brightly on a beautiful, warm, Autumn day. It was one of the best days I've ever had!

We ended up going down Flat Lake Road and eventually found a Fishing camp/lodge. It was empty, as the season is over, and it was one of the most beautiful spots we had ever been to. We had fun exploring the grounds, taking photographs and throwing leaves! I had to stop myself a few times to just take it all in - I definitely needed that kind of day. Thanks, Jenny!

Pond Family

This was a rather emotional photo session for me, as I am sure it was for Lori and her husband Ralph. When Lori contacted me to photograph her with her dogs, I could not say no. Pets are so important and they bring so much joy and happiness to ones life. I am so very happy that I have been able to provide them with memories of their two adorable dogs, especially Kismit (sp.).

Congratulations Tina on winning the photo Giveaway!

Thank-you EVERYONE who entered - it really means a lot to me and I appreciate your support. Stay tuned for another Giveaway in the next few weeks!

Cheers!

Millette Family Photographs -

Yesterday I headed out to Chukuni River - it's between Red Lake and Balmertown to meet up with Alesha and her husband Rob, along with their son Jayden and their Sheppard Shoka. While there, we explored their property, finding the perfect locations for family photographs. I'm quite pleased with how the photographs turned out. I hope you enjoy them too!

Kerri & Kyle - Engagement Photographs

I had the wonderful pleasure of taking engagement photographs for Kerri & Kyle this evening in Red Lake. Thankfully, the weather was cooperative and we were able to explore different parts of Red Lake, while being lightly rained on here and there.

Congrats Kerri & Kyle! Thank-you for letting me be apart of your engagement!

Photography Giveaway

Hello lovely photography supporters!

First of all, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support over the past few weeks! Having the opportunity to photograph is such a joy, as this has been a passion of mine for a very long time. It is not just a hobby, but a part of my identity.

As a promotion, I thought that I would host a special giveaway! On my Facebook page you will find a folder called
Nature. In this folder there are a variety of photographs that I have taken in the last year or two. The prize: one FRAMED print from this collection, either in 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10! If selected, the print that you would like, in the size that you would like, will be given to you!

All you have to do to enter this giveaway is leave a comment on this entry, telling me
the most photogenic place you have ever visited - it can be anywhere in the world!

For additional,
bonus entries, leave a separate comment for any of the following that you may choose to do:
1. Tell me if you have become a fan / "Like" Kara Parkhurst Photography on facebook, if you haven't already.
http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Red-Lake-ON/Kara-Parkhurst-Photography/142517239118262?ref=ts
2. Mention the giveaway on facebook, tagging karaparkhurstphotography in your status.
3. Follow my blog (or just comment to say that you already do!) at
http://karaparkhurst.blogspot.com/.

That gives you up to 4 entries to win! The winner will be randomly drawn and only comments on
this entry will qualify for the giveaway.

You have until
Friday, September 24, 2010 to enter. The winner will be announced on Saturday, September 25, 2010.

Happy entering (and photographing)! Don't forget to tell your friends about the contest!

Red Lake Fishing Tournament

Every year in September on the Labour Day weekend, Red Lake hosts a fishing tournament. This morning when I let Suzie outside I was welcomed by a thick fog. So, too, were those fishing in the tournament.
